SamariterviertelBerlin - Friedrichshain / Schreinerstraße 43 / Voigtstraße 34 – 10247 Berlin
A few undeveloped plots of land still exist in the heart of this city, so much of which was destroyed during the Second World War. One such plot of land is that at Schreinerstraße 43, on the corner of Voigtstraße. Not until recent years was the neighbourhood given a makeover, with old buildings being renovated and new buildings being constructed. On this undeveloped corner plot, a complex of buildings is currently under construction. The Samaritanerviertel complex will house 39 apartments over six floors, plus three commercial units on the ground floor and a basement garage for 16 cars. The new building will boast two entrances.
The new building will be aligned with the neighbouring buildings along the street. The 6th storey will be constructed as a penthouse level with terraced areas around the perimeter. The character of the building will be shaped by off-set loggias for the corner apartments, which are rounded at the front.
Friedrichshain is named after the Volkspark Friedrichshain, a vast green park at the northern border with Prenzlauer Berg. Its distinctive features include the Märchenbrunnen (Fairytale Fountain) and two green and pleasant "mountains" consisting purely of rubble and the ruins of two World War II Flak Tower.
